Chapter 8: Traffic Conversion Secrets

Chapter 8 in our book "Success Secrets of the Online Marketing Superstars" By Mitch Meyerson we learn about Traffic Conversion Secrets. Meyerson explains to make a site soar, you must apply principal-centered tactics to increase visitor values. Meyerson stresses the importance of value and principles in order to achieve success with any online business.

Meyerson shares his secrets for 5 important web conversion drivers, that all end in "-ing." They are, in no particular order: Baiting, Bundling, Recycling, Gifting, Engaging.

When all five are used along with principles (instead of tactics,) your customers will be psychologically triggered and opt for more information. But we must remember that sometimes not all drivers work, so it's important to change it up and keep up with what works, and what doesn't.

My Grade so Far at Midterm

For my in class web marketing midterm I had to post six blog entries regarding the movie obsession website. We had from almost the beginning of the class till the end to write and publish these blog articles online. If I had to give myself an evaluation for the class or a grade I think I would give myself an “A”. I know that I put my best foot forward these first several weeks considering how tough this class really is. There are some places that I could improve on, like writing end of class discussions and mid-term blog post. I have a hard time getting my thoughts typed out, but I’m plan on improving these next couple of weeks to come.

SinCityFlicks Project

For web marketing class we have to re-create http://lasvegasmovieinsider.com/ , we can’t use the same name because we don’t want to draw more traffic than the site already gets. Which from previous projects it has. The website is due towards the end of our quarter, so I have little time to build it. I have already bought a domain name http://SinCityFlicks.com/ , My expectation for this site is that it will be far much greater than my previous class project http://vampfansite.com/ .

Youtube project

The youtube account I created for the movie obsession website is http://youtube.com/vampfansite/ and my professional youtube account is http://youtube.com/montoyamedia/ . The plan for these accounts was to increase visitors to the main website http://VampFanSite.com/ , One they got there the plan was to create a relationship by gaining their email address. Marlon Sanders a brilliant dynamic e-marketer once said “Whatever they’re buying, you’re selling” In other words, your job is to not take a product and ram it down people’s throats. Your job, and sometimes a challenge, is to find out what people want to buy.
